Dear Website Visitor,
I, Henry, personally invite you to come "Meet" me and "Greet" me, Saturday evening.
This event will occur Saturday, March 9, beginning at 4pm and ending several hours later, depending on how long I can stay awake.
The location is the Shirtbutter.com World Headquarters in Baldwin County. The street address is 25421 Highway 181 Suite 102, Daphne, Al, inside the BearFace Media Warehouse. This is close to Allegri Farm Market, near the intersection of 181 and County Road 64.
I am excited to announce that there will be free popcorn and soft drink beverages. At a movie theatre, it would cost you well in excess of ten bucks, but at my "Meet and Greet," the popcorn and drink are FREE.
Uncle Henry t-shirts will be available for your purchase, but you are not required to buy a shirt. Three new designs will debut at the event, including the "Leave my Momma out of this!" t-shirt.

Let us gather together and talk, take cellphone pictures of each other shaking hands, and then agree to peacefully co-exist.
Roll Tide Roll
Sincerely,
Henry

Uncle Henry: So last night, I was dreaming that I was skydiving with Dot Moore over the snow covered Alps of north Baldwin County looking for my grandson, who was lost. One of my problems was, I couldn't think of her name. So, we landed and my grandson was playing baseball in the yard of my family's home in Stockton by himself with a catcher's mask on. I woke up and couldn't remember Dot's name. After going through every on air personality I could think of back to the early 50's and being unable to identify her, I got up and went to the computer. I went to your website and within seconds, found your interview of her in her condo. Problem solved! I thank you for this valuable resource in keeping senility at bay, for at least one more night! Please don't analyze the dream. Thanks for your service, Dr. Don

Idle Iron: I noticed reporting on blow-up of idle iron on TV15 last week and also in today's Press-Register. As I mentioned during Uncle Henry Show on February 7, the issue is complex, and not well known in the Mobile area. I will be making a presentation on the subject on March 19 during the Annual Spring Meeting of the Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission. You can take a look at my powerpoint (Flow of Dollars from 2010 BP Oil Spill) in semoonchang.com for an overview.
Sales Tax Rate: I am not sure whether the table in Today's Press-Register article on sales tax rates is accurate. In any case, the more compelling issue is the wide variation in rates that invite non-compliance as well as high tax rates. I wrote a piece in October 4 issue of the Press-Register.
Local Economic Trends: I have received requests from the media and the public for an overview of local economic trends. I posted them in the lower left area of semoonchang.comthat I will try to update every month and hopefully expand a little as my service to the community.
thank you, Semoon Chang, chief economist Gulf Coast Center for Impact StudiesTM |
