Uncle Henry,
I got my property taxes for next year and again I see they have raised the value of my house, and again I will have to protest it. I see all around me houses that are for sale with no buyers, reduced prices, and somehow my house went up in price again. Housing prices around the county have dropped 25%, so why not my house? I live in Irvington where we are lucky if we have an above ground pool with a deck around it as you pointed out. We can’t afford nice pools because the county and the insurance co. who charge $3,000.00 year for a 1500 sf. House that has never had a clam in 25 years are killing us down here. We are the poorest part of Mobile County; we can’t sell our houses because insurance is so much higher south on the interstate and no one wants them. I’m just feed up with it all. $700.00 house note has $500.00 taxes and insurance added to make it $1,200.00 a month. That is $6,000.00 year that I could be spending on something else helping the economy, creating job. And what will that insurance cover when you are hit with a hurricane? Not the first $7,500.00, you have to pay that. I’m just feed up with it all, the more I work the more they take from me. It is no wonder people live under the over passes.
Just had to vent Uncle Henry,
Thanks, T.A.

Dear Uncle Henry,
Did you see on Foxnews.com this a.m. that Obama's approval rating is at the lowest point ever? I can't believe it took until now, frankly. And I am constantly mystified by all the people that still worship at his altar. I can't understand it. Like the guy who keeps calling in saying "I LOVE President Barack Obama", I run into these folks every day. HOW CAN THEY??!! Your dog or my cat could be a better president than this man. Maybe they could be president and vice-president. I believe it was Rush Limbaugh the other day that said that Jimmy Carter ought to send a love letter to BO, because he has made him look SO much better. I couldn't agree more!
Have a good one, thank God for football, and Roll Tide Roll!
Your friend,
"Jane"

Dear Uncle Henry,
This morning you said on the show that children these days don't like going to school and will tell you so. I am sure that is true, but I have had the opposite experience. I have had the pleasure of getting to know a fair number of incoming freshmen at McGill/Toolen and some at St. Lukes. They are all really excited about starting at their new schools and have been for weeks.
On a side note I have a first grader who has been wearing her new uniform jumper every day since she got it. She is really excited about starting school. I realize that isn't quite the same.
Have a great day Sir.
Regular Joe
