Good Morning Uncle Henry,
First, Freddy and your other caller simply highlight that many people eagerly accept tyranny and socialism to have someone else pay their bills. To them, any restraint on wealth redistribution is repugnant, but this only proves that their vision for America cannot coexist with capitalism in a free Constitutional Republic. This essay at Mobile Bay Times from last week explains how we are at the point of irreconcilable differences.

Second, the debt deal is an abject travesty for all. There are NO spending cuts. The government will spend more this year and every year hereafter. The government will certainly borrow another $2.4 trillion now and need more later. CBO scores THIS debt deal to add at least $7 trillion to the national debt over the next 10 years. And, the insult to injury is the cabal created by this special committee will surely demand new taxes (for more spending) or slash defense while our service people are on the battle field.
Third, all the advice and criticisms of the Tea Parties are greatly appreciated, but I fully expect to see all those folks at the next Common Sense rally. There is no doubt the sentiment to preserve our free Constitutional Republic is dominant, but if the people will not rise and act to defend freedom, then we will get the government we deserve. Our government is happily spending borrowed money to buy more votes from Freddy and all his friends so thrilled to have the government provide for them.
Will we just watch and complain? Or, join the Tea Party movement and save freedom for future generations? 2012 is coming and it may be our last chance!
Regards,
Pete Riehm
